Choosing
your alert system package
In-touch have created a number of different options for our clients. To
choose the right one for your needs, please take a moment to run through our
step-by-step guide. As you read each section, there is a key word for you to
note. Once you have completed the guide, the correct package for you will be
obvious from your selection. You can then fill in the application form on
the basis of your choice. The starting point is the
STANDARD system which includes the alarm unit and simple wrist panic button
with clip and neck strap wearing options.

Step 4— Mobile and Automatic
fall detection
To cover you when you're in or out of the home our smart mobile service
provides a panic alert plus an automatic fall detector built into a mobile
telephone. The mobile can be used through your normal mobile telephone
provider, if you already have a mobile telephone this service replaces it if
you wish.

Step 2—Mobile
add-on
Your alert system comes with a wrist button which will work within a 100m
range of the base unit. For the majority of cases this is sufficient to
protect the user within their home and grounds. However, we can offer users
the facility to use their mobile phone to contact the control centre in the
case of an emergency. To do this, you will be issued with a secure telephone
number to program into your phone and a unique identifier which the centre
will use to confirm your identity. If you want this option, note down the
keyword MOBILE.
Step 1—Home Security
Your personal alert can include a home security facility. This uses the
central alarm unit together with infra red movement detectors. It works by
detecting movement in the property when the alarm has been ‘armed’. It will
then dial our control centre and our staff can then request confirmation
from anyone in the property. If we are not satisfied with the response, we
will call your list of nominated contacts in order for the situation to be
dealt with locally. We recommend that you use an approved local installer to
configure your system for use. If you want home security then you will need
to note down the keyword ADVANCED. If not, then
you will need to note STANDARD.

Step 3—Automatic
fall detection
In certain circumstances, for example where clients are subject to frequent
blackouts, or a tendency to lose balance, it may be worth considering an
automatic fall pendant. If you think this might apply to you, then please
note down the keyword
PLUS. Because the automatic fall detection
pendants require a different way of wearing and using than a standard
system, you will need to consider whether this is something which is
absolutely necessary. PLUS systems come with a normal wrist button as
standard in any case. The fall pendant is only used with the neck-strap
option, or clipped to the wearer’s clothing. This is to ensure that the
pendant does not set off too many false alarms. The fall pendant has a delay
built into it so that, if put back into an upright position during the
‘countdown’ time, the call is cancelled. For most clients, the STANDARD
package is sufficient for their needs.
